The Origin of our Company and Cause

It began in the mind of a dreamer. The developer of Assassin and the Assassin Agent Technologies; James Everett, was becoming frustrated by the growing threat of malicious software appearing at an alarming rate on computers all around the world. He became tired of waiting so, he founded Black List Software in 2004 and took it upon himself to build a solution. He sought inspiration from nature, so he researched the Aids Virus and how the body reacts to its infection. From his research he was inspired to write the Assassin Interferon Agent which mimics the Interferon in the Human body and has thus revolutionized the way a malicious Windows process is removed from an x86 computer system. The solution was genius, and it was released right away.

The day it was released, Assassin was immediately picked up by such big names as SecurityFocus, MajorGeeks, NetRunner, and many more. For some time it seemed as if Assassin was unstoppable; that was until James was informed by a mysterious friend that Assassin could not bring down certain processes such as Agnitum Outpost Firewall. This news perplexed James for a few months until James wrote and released the answer. He called that answer the Assassin Termination Agent and it was released with the freeware version of Assassin, version 4.0.

As a company we demonstrated the power of Assassin on Agnitum Outpost Firewall and our successful results shocked the world. It seemed that we took Assassin as far as we could and we were offering this technology for free to anyone with a x86 computer and a Windows NT Platform. Finally, we served the world and Assassin went global for the first time.

Outside the Paradigm of Standardized Reality

We indeed stood upon the shoulders of giants and released Assassin 4.0, but it was not user-friendly and that prevented a lot of users who needed it from downloading it. So, we went back to the lab and totally re-wrote Assassin, added some user-friendly functionality, and have thus made it possible for anyone to use Assassin like a professional. We call that solution, Assassin SE 5.0.

Our Objectives for the Immediate Future

We plan to continue on in our research and search for the most optimal answer to the threat of malicious software. We are impressed with our current progress and are planning to push the envelope on this new idea as far as it will go. We also plan to port this technology to alternative OS distributions in the near future. With our global reach and innovative products we project big things for the future of Black List Software and with the growing number of computer viruses and variants infecting users all around the world we do not see our need to subside any time soon.
